5 Steps to a healthier you

When you physically look good; most of the time, you feel good but does feeling good mean feeling healthy? Some of the ways to complement good looks is by keeping healthy. Keeping good body shape, sound mind  and healthy eating are by no means the best strategies to achieving both body and mind  well-being.  Physical fitness, which is a key factor in the health and fitness world, has various components which you need to keep in mind in order to make it work for you. To gain optimal benefit from your exercise routines, you need balance, strength, coordination and endurance.

So many times all these sound extremely daunting, particularly if you are just starting out your exercise or ‘get fit’ regime, but you can always support yourself with additional tools from professionals who have designed programmes that will give you step-by-step guide to achieving your fitness goal.

If you are overweight and think that there is little or nothing you can do at this point, I’d like you to think again because everything that happens to you starts right from within you. It starts from your thought which you can control if you so choose. All it takes is your will power to say no to temptations and more. If you are truly committed to taking action, you can check out this pretty awesome fitness training program, from the Moon fitters range.

Why not start one at a time?  Create ‘a goals list’ for yourself.  You can top your list with learning and grabbing effective eating habits or get recipes that will help you kill the temptation of undeserving food. Once that’s achieved, you can then move to your next set goal which may be exercise routine. There are a lot of free videos online that you can choose to follow everyday for perfectly tailored-exercise routines.

To begin your journey for a better looking and healthier feeling you, simply follow these tips:

Enjoy exercising regularly

When exercising, do the ones that you enjoy and not overwork yourself to completely get you worn-out. Exercise should be enjoyable part of our regular fitness activities and not to be seen as a chore. Ensure you are well kitted in ways that you like to see yourself and perhaps add some music to your routine to make the session far from boring.

Start gradually

Whatever regime you choose, take it slow. Start gradually and fit in activities you feel comfortable doing and do it at a pace you have chosen for yourself without constrains, while also keeping your expectations real. You can start with indoor exercises and when you get a good grip of that, you can begin to enjoy other outdoor exercises.

Overcome the temptation of unhealthy foods

This is almost the greatest challenge you will face when you are just starting on a fitness regime but you can overcome this by working on your will power to say no to those diets that are not good for your body and health. To face this problem, you can start by clearing your home and office of junks that don’t fit in your menu list anymore. Also, if it is extremely difficult to keep your hands off some of your ‘favourites’, you can begin by reducing the portions you have of those and continue to work on your cravings so that they will completely disappear from your intakes.

Have regular health check

No doubt regular health checks can save lives, no matter how old or young you are. Despite the excuses you may have, when you visit your doctor regularly for check-ups, it will help uncover risks such as diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, other related cardiovascular ailments and perhaps, a regular health result will help you get serious with your exercise regime and stay true to your ‘healthy food menu’.

Stay focused

Just concentrate on your goals and always look towards your vision. Don’t let other people’s opinion of you get in your way to achieving the body and health that you crave. More importantly, get yourself a journal to keep track of your progress and ensure that mind agrees with your desires.
